[ What is NK cells? ]

NK cells are a type of white blood cell that is responsible for innate immunity and mature in the liver and bone marrow. They are also known as 'natural killer cells’. The main function of NK cells is to directly attack and eliminate virus-infected cells or cancer cells. Unlike other cells, virus-infected cells or cancer cells have abnormalities such as less specific protein (MHC Class I) on the cell surface, and NK cells are known to detect abnormalities and recognize virus-infected cells or cancer cells.
